Description
Cliffs and the blue Mediterranean Sea. The Sierra Helada Natural Park is a landmark of the Costa Blanca in Spain.
The mountain range rises between the coastal towns of Altea and Benidorm. Hiking in the Sierra Helada offers wonderful views of the Mediterranean and the steep cliffs. This photo is dedicated to the impressive rock formations of Morro Sant JordÃ, which are located in the northern part of the mountain range. Rugged cliffs jut out into the blue sea.
Incidentally, the name Sierra Helada means icy or frosty mountain. This probably refers less to the Mediterranean temperatures and more to the special light moods on the coast and the bright colours of the cliffs, which give the Sierra Helada a frosty appearance on some days (when seen from a distance).
