Beaches in Calpe, Costa Blanca Spain

Beaches in Calpe, Costa Blanca Spain

Views of the coast and the Peñón de Ifach.

The beautiful beaches in Calpe and Benissa inspire me a lot, as they offer fantastic views of the Peñón de Ifach, the cliffs and the Mediterranean Sea. The Peñón de Ifach Natural Park (Penyal d'Ifac) is the landmark of the coastal town of Calpe and a popular tourist destination on the northern Costa Blanca. Its peak, which is 332 meters above sea level, is an excellent vantage point on the coast. But the Peñón de Ifach also offers interesting perspectives from a distance, making it a real eye-catcher.

When walking along the beaches in Calpe, the sight of the rock is omnipresent. I love hiking along the Paseo Ecológico de Benissa coastal path, and I almost always have my camera with me. Early in the morning to watch the sunrise over the Mediterranean Sea. During the day, when the coastal landscape is characterized by bright sunlight and Mediterranean blue tones. But also in the evening, when the sun moves towards the horizon and the coast is bathed in enchanting colors. Waves, abstract reflections in the sea water, clouds over the sea, but also the shapes of the rocks and sand are among my favorite subjects. In my opinion, the following beaches and bays near the Peñón de Ifach are particularly attractive: Cala del Penyal, Cala les Bassetes, Playa del Cantal Roig and Cala El Racó.

With my photos I would like to bring the charm of the Mediterranean coast and its dream beaches into your home.

Costa Blanca Spain, nature photography

Waves, cliffs and sand.

Clear sea water, waves, cliffs and sandy beaches on the Mediterranean coast in Spain. This photo series is dedicated to the elegant movements of the water, abstract reflections and the beautiful bays of the Costa Blanca in Spain. Sea water flows over rocks or fine sand. Waves move towards the coast. Sunlight is reflected in the wet sand. The relaxing sound of the sea is omnipresent.

When I´m on the beach with my camera, I´m inspired by natural structures, the interplay of colors and the constant movement of the water. Sometimes I am captivated by details that seem inconspicuous at first glance but have a very special charm on closer inspection.

Moments on the Mediterranean coast.

When photographing by the sea, it is important to me not only to depict what is visible, but also to incorporate other sensory impressions into my pictures. On the beach, I like the wind, but also the feeling of the soft sand and the cool water on the soles of my feet. Looking at the waves, I sometimes feel as if the clocks are ticking a little slower and I think about the meaning of time.

In my opinion, photography offers wonderful opportunities to capture brief moments and the subtle changes in flowing water. With this in mind, I like to take several shots of a scene. The resulting series of images are dedicated both to the magic of the moment and to change. Each shot shows a unique moment that is part of the constant change in nature. With my photos of the Mediterranean coast, I would like to bring the relaxing effect of sea water into your home.

Mediterranean coast, beach photography

Sea water and beach.

Flowing sea water meets sand and sunlight. I often enjoy the soothing sound of the sea and the relaxing atmosphere on the Mediterranean coast in Spain. Clear sea water flows elegantly over the rocks and meets the shore. Sometimes there are beautiful reflections in the wet sand and on the surface of the water. Waves, foam and sunlight create abstract effects in the water. I like to capture the natural structures and details with my camera.

Waves and reflections on the Costa Blanca.

In general, I love walking at the foot of the Peñón de Ifach Natural Park and in the beautiful bays of the northern Costa Blanca. The views of the sea and the cliffs inspire me a lot. In my opinion, the flowing water represents the beauty of nature, which is characterized by constant change and permanent movement. I am particularly fascinated by the gentle waves that are constantly forming and moving towards the coast. Waves have been leaving their mark on the beach for millions of years. Every wave shapes the coast.

By the sea, I think about the meaning of time and it often seems to me that the clocks tick a little slower. That’s why this series is dedicated to the meditative and abstract effect of sea water. I would like to bring the charm of the Mediterranean coast into your home with my beach photography.

Sky photography at sunrise and sunset

Sky photography at sunrise and sunset

Air meets sunlight. Sea of clouds and abstract effects in the sky.

The scenic skyscapes at sunrise and sunset on the Costa Blanca in Spain inspire me a lot. For this reason, I have dedicated a series of photographs and photo collages to the abstract effects in the sky. When the clouds are illuminated by warm sunlight, the sky turns into a fantastic dreamscape. The abstract interplay of shapes and colors can be very versatile and unpredictable.

With this selection of Mediterranean skyscapes, I would like to show the magic of the moment, which is part of constant change and movement. When I take pictures of the sky, I often feel like I'm floating in a sea of clouds. In addition, I imagine taking a journey through time where sunlight meets air and creates an abundance of colors. I love to capture my impressions and feelings with my camera. Sometimes I use specific photos as modules to create abstract patterns.

Discovery drawings, Past meets future

Discovery drawings, Past meets future

Abstract drawings of creatures that have not yet been discovered.

The three pencil drawings of imaginary life forms are meant to combine signs from the past and ideas for the future. I am very fascinated by fossils and traces of living creatures from the past. On the one hand, they represent what was there. On the other hand, they symbolize the origin and creation of life.

The designs are based on the idea that ancient life forms can represent a connection between the past and the future. They encourage a mental journey through the millennia or millions of years. It’s almost like getting into a time machine. They inspired me to imagine what an undiscovered creature from the past or a future living being might look like.

The Discovery series is dedicated to creatures that have not yet been discovered. Every living being leaves its traces and signs over the course of time. Some of them will be discovered.

Past and future face each other. Multiplication and abstract patterns.

In addition to the original drawings, I created a series of monochrome patterns. I used the individual designs as modules and expanded them into abstract patterns through reflection and symmetry. In the first step, past and future life face each other. Past meets future. In the next step, the living beings multiply and form a higher level. This is based on the idea that life forms can find ways to reproduce and exist across generations. In this respect, the patterns are an allusion to reproduction through cell division. When creating the patterns, I was inspired by the concept that an as yet undiscovered creature might choose the same strategies for reproduction and species preservation as the creatures we know.

Guardians of truth drawings

Guardians of truth drawings

About handling information.

It seems to me that the concept of truth is difficult to define, and the question of whether there can be a universal truth at all should remain open here. The three “Guardians of truth” are dedicated to a mental experiment: If truth is regarded as an accumulation of maximum information density, it depends on whether all information is actually available and who has access to it. In addition, the question arises as to whether a neutral handling of information is even possible. This cannot be assumed in every case, as there are various reasons why information becomes fragile, is lost or manipulated. In the face of human vanity and subjective endeavors, truth can be a very fragile affair.

What would it mean if a neutral authority could preserve information and protect it from manipulation or even loss? An omniscient authority that would do full justice to the title “Guardian of truth”. What consequences would this have for our lives and for historiography in general? Could the immense data storage made possible by the development of information technology be considered such a neutral authority, or is this science also influenced by human vanity? In this context, the three anonymous figures found their way onto the paper. The three faceless guardians wrapped in a veil represent an emotional and intellectual process of research, the expansion of knowledge and the preservation of information. They resemble humans and yet are not really human. Pencil on paper.

Clouds, mountains and the Mediterranean Sea watercolors

Clouds, mountains and the Mediterranean Sea watercolors

Scenic clouds over the Mediterranean. Rock formations that have been formed over thousands of years by the forces of nature. Bright sunlight and reflections in the clear sea water.

I really like the coastal landscapes and mountains on the Costa Blanca in Spain. Sometimes the timing is perfect and beautiful lighting moods captivate me. Early in the morning, when the coastal landscape is illuminated by golden sunlight. During the day, when the landscape is characterized by the bright colors of the cliffs and buildings. By day, when the blue tones of the clear sky are reflected on the surface of the sea. But even when the clouds in the sky create subtle gray tones in the surroundings. In the evening, when the sun touches the horizon and the landscape is bathed in enchanting colors, some days a wonderful natural spectacle emerges.

Enchanting moments and change.

I love to use watercolors to put my impressions on paper. When I’m on the coast or in the mountains, I usually have a small sketchbook and my camera with me to capture my impressions on site. Sometimes I’m inspired by details, sometimes by the views of the steep cliffs and the vast sea. The sketches and snapshots serve as a guide when I paint a specific motif in detail at a later date.

When painting, it is important to me not only to represent what is visible, but also to incorporate other sensory impressions into my pictures. On the beach I like the feeling of the soft sand on the soles of my feet, the clear and refreshing water and the sound of the waves. In the mountains I am usually impressed by the shapes and colors of the weathered rocks.

As soon as the paper is wet and the colors are flowing, I realize that everything is in motion. Sometimes I create series that show different states of a scene. My paintings are dedicated to the magic of the moment, which is part of the constant change in nature.

Cliffs and the Mediterranean Sea watercolors

Cliffs and the Mediterranean Sea watercolors

Cala Moraig. A beautiful bay and the constant change in nature.

Cala Moraig is one of my favorite places on the northern Costa Blanca in Spain. I like to stay on the beach there, look at the sea and capture my impressions with watercolors. The scenic bay is located at the foot of the Cumbre del Sol mountain.

Cala Moraig is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the attractive coastal area. Both the clear sea water and the views of impressive cliffs attract numerous visitors every year. Over thousands of years, the rocks have been formed by the power of water. They bear the traces of time. In my opinion, the rock formations called Falla del Moraig and Morro Falquí are particularly impressive. But the cave called Cova dels Arcs is also a real eye-catcher.

A watercolor series is dedicated to the sea water and rocks of Cala Moraig. I painted the scene at different times of the day and noticed changes. In general, I am fascinated by the fact that everything in nature is characterized by constant movement and change. The colors, the lights and shadows on the cliffs, as well as the appearance of the water and the sky change quite quickly. In contrast, the rocks represent slow change.

I like to paint with watercolors to depict the subtle colors of the Mediterranean coast and the changes in nature. My work is inspired by long walks along the coast, but also by the bright sunlight that is omnipresent on the Costa Blanca.

Ficus Macrophylla drawings

Ficus Macrophylla drawings

Ink drawings of trees and their strong roots.

Tree of life. I am fascinated by strong roots and the graceful appearance of old trees. Maybe it's because trees grow in a very specific place over a long period of time while the world around them is constantly changing. However, I was particularly inspired by the elegant shapes of the Ficus Macrophylla. Several trees of this species grow in a small park I discovered in the beautiful city center of Valencia.

I made some sketches in this enchanting place and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere in the shade of the trees. Based on these sketches, I created a series of five ink drawings. It is a complex network of thin lines that shows the organic shapes of the roots. In addition, the idea of the flowing life energy inside the trees is an essential part of the designs.

Light and shadow. Black and white. The powerful roots of these trees are firmly connected to the earth. In my eyes, roots are symbols of strength and down-to-earthness, but also of the subconscious and the cycle of life.

Magic Forest and Reflections

Magic Forest and Reflections

The Magic Forest and Reflections collection is dedicated to the beautiful forests in Saxony (Germany). It is inspired by long hikes, trees and their strong roots but also by abstract reflections in calm water. When walking through the woods, the interplay of light and shadow is fascinating. I also like to observe the seasonal changes in nature. The emergence, existence and fading of life that seems to be in a permanent cycle. In my opinion, trees symbolize the annual changes in nature, but also stability and peace. They grow in one place over a long period of time while the world around them changes very quickly.

Clear air, subtle sunlight, the gentle rustle of leaves in the treetops, noises in the undergrowth, the aromatic scent of the ground. There is so much beauty around us every day. It depends on us whether we see and feel it. For me, the forest is a place of contemplation and serenity. Photography is a wonderful way to capture my impressions and the magic of the moment. With my photos and the stories surrounding them, I would like to inspire and motivate people to spend more time in nature and to experience it more consciously with all their senses.

Let my work bring the magic of the forest into your home.
