Description
View of the rugged foothills of the Sierra de Bernia and the Cañón del Mascarat. The steep mountainside is characterised by the shapes of the weathered limestone. Rugged rock meets blue sky and the green of plants. The Puig Campana mountain rises in the background.
The hill of Castellet de Calp is an excellent vantage point on the Mediterranean coast. Already in past eras, this charming place served as an observation post. It was part of the historical surveillance system on the Valencian coast. The rock formations at this place fascinate me very much.
Over many millennia, the Cañón del Mascarat was formed by erosion and the power of water. The gorge is located between Calpe and Altea on the Mediterranean coast. This stretch of coast is characterised by fascinating cliffs.
The mountainside bears the marks of time and at the same time stands for the timeless beauty in nature. When I look at the rugged cliffs, I get an idea how powerful the forces of nature are. At this moment, the clocks seem to tick a little slower. I like to be inspired by the shapes, colours and abstract effects of the eroded rock. For this reason, I have dedicated a photo series to this special place.
The local hiking trails in Calpe and Altea offer wonderful views of the mountains and cliffs of the Mediterranean coast. This photo is meant to bring the charm of the Costa Blanca and the abstract beauty of eroded rocks into your home.
