Description
View from the Sierra de Oltà mountain towards the coastal city of Calpe, the Peñón de Ifach Natural Park (Penyal d'Ifac) and the blue Mediterranean Sea. Mountain goats make their home in this wonderful mountainous landscape on the Mediterranean coast.
This photograph was taken amidst a herd of wild goats. I met them on the trail that leads to the southern peak called La Mola. A female mountain goat is the protagonist of this image. She looks at the symbol of Calpe, which rises majestically from the sea. In particular, the steep cliffs on the south side of the Peñón de Ifach give the rock its characteristic shape. The Peñón de Ifach Natural Park is the smallest nature reserve on mainland Spain, but is also a popular destination for hiking and climbing.
My photographic work is inspired by long hikes on remote mountain trails in the Alicante province in Spain. Every time I hike in the Sierra de Oltà and let my gaze wander into the distance, the clocks seem to tick more slowly. In the midst of nature, the feeling of serenity is omnipresent. The local walking routes offer wonderful views of the Mediterranean Sea and towards the surrounding mountains.
This landscape photo is designed to bring some of the charm of the seaside town of Calpe and its landmark, the Peñón de Ifach (Penyal d'Ifac), into your home.
