Description
Root and sandstone. The rough sandstone rocks are covered with damp moss. On a warm summer day in Saxon Switzerland (which is a popular hiking destination in the east of Germany), the air is clear and pure. There is an enchanting ambience in the middle of the forest. Hiking in the semi-shade of the dense treetops is pleasant and relaxing.
This photo is dedicated to a small path that goes up between the rocks. It starts in an idyllic gorge. Stone and wooden steps lead up to the top of the sandstone rocks. It doesn't always have to be the main route.
Definitely worth trying the remote and uneven trails. Related to hiking and also in a figurative sense. Away from the main routes there is so much beauty to discover... and after the effort of the ascent you can see the landscape from a new perspective.

Thank you so much, Kevin! In my eyes, old trees and the powerful forms of roots are something very special, that´s is why I dedicated an extensive series of photos and drawings to this subject.
