Sunrise on the Mediterranean coast between Benissa and Calpe. The Peñón de Ifach Natural Park rises majestically from the Mediterranean Sea. Warm sunlight in the morning makes its steep cliffs appear in orange-brown hues.

This photograph is dedicated to the sunrises on the Mediterranean coast and beaches of the northern Costa Blanca in Spain. I am very inspired by views of the vast coastal landscape, where rock formations meet blue sea water. Very early in the morning, the ambience on the coast is calm and the landscape is bathed in enchanting colors for a brief moment.

The prominent rock formation called Peñón de Ifach (Penyal d'Ifac) is the landmark of the coastal town of Calpe. Its peak, which is 332 meters above sea level, is an excellent vantage point on the Mediterranean coast. But there are also interesting perspectives from afar, where the Peñón de Ifach is the eye-catcher. Walking along the coast in Calpe, the sight of the Peñón de Ifach is omnipresent.
