View from the Sierra de Oltà mountain towards the coastal city of Calpe, the Peñón de Ifach Natural Park (Penyal d'Ifac) and the blue Mediterranean Sea. Mountain goats make their home in this wonderful mountainous landscape on the Mediterranean coast.
This photograph was taken amidst a herd of wild goats. I met them on the trail that leads to the southern peak called La Mola. A female mountain goat is the protagonist of this image. She looks at the symbol of Calpe, which rises majestically from the sea. In particular, the steep cliffs on the south side of the Peñón de Ifach give the rock its characteristic shape. The Peñón de Ifach Natural Park is the smallest nature reserve on mainland Spain, but is also a popular destination for hiking and climbing.
