In this realistic and detailed pencil drawing I have captured the joyful expression of Zeus, with open mouth and visible tongue. His warm and gentle facial expression inspired me to create this portrait. When working on the details, it was important to me to emphasise his expressive eyes and the fine shading in his soft fur. The white hair shows that this is a senior dog. In my opinion, it is very appealing to capture the signs of ageing and show their beauty.
I love to draw with pencil, focussing on the subtle interplay of light and shadow. In this context, I create a dense network of lines and subtle shades of grey. It is particularly interesting to explore the typical facial features and work out the fine structures of the fur. Pencil on paper.
