Description
View from the top of the Peñón de Ifach towards the blue Mediterranean Sea and the seaside town of Calpe. The south side of the mountain is characterized by vertical cliffs where there are numerous climbing routes. Rocks with climbing hooks can be seen in the foreground, the mountains of the southern Costa Blanca rise in the distance. Mediterranean blue meets the light beige of the limestone cliffs. Relaxing ambience on a sunny day on the Mediterranean coast.
The Peñón de Ifach Natural Park is an excellent vantage point. It has fascinated people for a very long time. Archaeological finds at the foot of the mountain prove this fact. Due to its exposed location, locals used the mountain as an observation post in the past. Thus, the Peñón de Ifach was an important part of a defense system to protect the Valencian coast from pirates. Today it is a popular destination for hikers and climbers. The elevated vantage points allow a bird's eye view of the Costa Blanca and the sea. For this reason, the Peñón de Ifach Natural Park is one of my favorite destinations on the Mediterranean coast.
My photographic work is inspired by long hikes in the southeast of Spain, where I let myself be enchanted by Mediterranean mountain landscapes. Every time I take a break in the Peñón de Ifach (Penyal d'Ifac) Natural Park and let my gaze wander into the distance, the clocks seem to tick more slowly.
This landscape photograph is destined to bring some of the charm of the seaside town of Calpe and its landmark, the Peñón de Ifach (Penyal d'Ifac), into your home.
