Description
View from the Sierra de Oltà mountain towards Calpe. The touristy coastal town of Calpe and its landmark, the Peñón de Ifach Natural Park, are visible behind the treetops of pines and shrubs. The urban architecture and the coastline appear quite bright in the Mediterranean sunlight. The city on the Mediterranean is surrounded by unspoilt nature. The green of the pines meets the dreamy blue of the sea water.
Hiking on the northern Costa Blanca offers wonderful views of Peñón de Ifach (Penyal d'Ifac) and the coastline. The mountain rises majestically from the sea and has a characteristic shape, especially with its steep cliffs on the south wall. Calpe marina is at the foot of the mountain.
This photograph is dedicated to the view of the blue Mediterranean Sea and the city centre of Calpe with its high-rise buildings. The Peñón de Ifach is the smallest nature reserve in mainland Spain, but also a popular destination for hiking and climbing.
My photographic work is inspired by long walks on remote mountain trails in the Alicante province in Spain. When I hike in the Sierra de Oltà and let my gaze wander into the distance, the feelings of freedom and serenity are omnipresent. At the same time, there are equally wonderful views of the vast Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding mountains. This photograph is meant to bring some of the charm of the coastal town of Calpe and its landmark into your home.
