Description
This watercolour is dedicated to the intricate, intertwined shapes of an old tree and its strong roots. The tree grows on a mountain plateau. Although the ground is rocky and the terrain irregular, the root has found a foothold in the soil. The imposing root winds its way over the rocks. This tree symbolises the vitality and wild beauty of nature, but also strength and endurance. The natural scene is characterised by shady areas, as very little sunlight reaches the ground through the dense tree crown. And yet there are a few rays of light that make the wood glow subtly. The enchanting interplay of light and shadow, but also the persistent growth on the hard rock, inspired me to create this watercolour.

Thank you very much, Kevin. You are absolutely right: trees, as well as their strong roots and branches, have a very special grace and beauty. In my opinion, near a tree it feels like time is passing more slowly.
