Description
Sunrise on the Mediterranean coast between Benissa and Calpe. The Peñón de Ifach Natural Park rises majestically from the Mediterranean Sea. Warm sunlight in the morning makes the cliffs appear in shades of orange-brown to red-brown.
The foreground of the picture is characterized by the rocks of a former quarry. In the past, the rock was removed by human hands at this place. The rocks bear the traces of that time.
This photograph is dedicated to the magical sunrises on the Mediterranean and the coastal landscapes on the northern Costa Blanca in Spain. I am very inspired by the coastal views where rock formations meet blue sea water. Very early in the morning, the Mediterranean ambience is perfectly calm and the landscape is bathed in enchanting colors.
The prominent mountain called Peñón de Ifach (Penyal d'Ifac) is the landmark of the coastal town of Calpe. From its summit, which is located 332 meters above sea level, there are fantastic views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Costa Blanca. But there are also interesting perspectives from afar, with the Peñón de Ifach being the eye-catcher. Walking along the coast in Calpe, the sight of the Peñón de Ifach is omnipresent.
