Description
View from the Sierra de Oltà mountain towards Calpe. The tourist coastal town of Calpe and its landmark, the rock called Peñón de Ifach, can be seen behind the dense treetops of pine trees. Hiking on the northern Costa Blanca offers wonderful views of Peñón de Ifach (Penyal d'Ifac) and the coastline. The rock rises majestically out of the sea and has very striking shapes, especially with its vertical cliffs on the south face.
This photograph is dedicated to the view of the blue Mediterranean Sea and the city center of Calpe with its skyscrapers and the salt lake. The Peñón de Ifach is the smallest nature reserve on mainland Spain, but is also a popular destination for hiking and climbing.
My work is inspired by long hikes on remote mountain trails in the Alicante province in Spain. When I hike in the Sierra de Oltà and let my gaze wander into the distance, the feelings of freedom and serenity are omnipresent. There are equally wonderful views of the wide Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding mountains near the coast. This shot is destined to bring some of the charm of the seaside town of Calpe and its landmark into your home. The green of the pines meets Mediterranean blue.
