Artist's Description
Intricate tree roots spread out below the ground and show the complexity of nature. The detailed black and white drawing is dedicated to the imposing trees, their strong roots and the peaceful atmosphere in the middle of the forest. I particularly like to depict the organic forms of roots and branches graphically. By creating a complex network of delicate black ink lines, I try to focus on the visible and pure forms of the tree. But the idea of the flowing vitality inside the tree is also part of the design.
Long hikes through the forest and to remote places inspire me. When I spend time in nature, I often have my sketchbook with me to make quick sketches on the spot. They serve as a guide before I start to draw a particular tree or landscape in detail. I see trees and their strong roots as symbols of vitality, endurance and the cycle of life.
The original work is signed by the artist on the front: "Adria 04.2016".
