The Peñón de Ifach Natural Park is an excellent vantage point. It has fascinated people for a very long time. Archaeological finds at the foot of the mountain prove this fact. Due to its exposed location, locals used the mountain as an observation post in the past. Thus, the Peñón de Ifach was an important part of a defense system to protect the Valencian coast from pirates. Today it is a popular destination for hikers and climbers.
