Description
View from the Mirador de los Carabineros towards the blue coastal landscape. A seagull sits high on the cliffs and contemplates the Mediterranean Sea. Hiking in the Peñón de Ifach Natural Park in Calpe offers wonderful views of the rugged cliffs, the sea water and towards the mountains of the southern Costa Blanca. Mediterranean blue of the sky and water meets light beige of the limestone cliffs.
The Peñón de Ifach Natural Park is an excellent vantage point. It has fascinated people for a very long time. Archaeological finds at the foot of the mountain prove this fact. Due to its exposed location, locals used the mountain as an observation post in the past. Thus, the Peñón de Ifach was an important part of a defense system to protect the Valencian coast from pirates. Today it is a popular destination for hikers and climbers. The elevated vantage points allow a bird's eye view of the Costa Blanca and the sea. For this reason, the Peñón de Ifach Natural Park is one of my favorite travel destinations on the Mediterranean coast.
My photographic work is inspired by long hikes in the southeast of Spain, where I let myself be enchanted by Mediterranean mountain landscapes. Every time I take a break in the Peñón de Ifach (Penyal d'Ifac) Natural Park and let my gaze wander into the distance, the clocks seem to tick more slowly. I also enjoy watching the seagulls resting high up on the limestone cliffs.
This landscape photograph is destined to bring some of the charm of the Costa Blanca and its landmark, the Peñón de Ifach (Penyal d'Ifac), into your home.
