Description
Romantic ruins of a historic fortress on the Mediterranean coast. The picturesque Castillo de la Granadella was built in 1739. During the Renaissance, the fortifications served as an observation post and to protect the coast from Berber pirates. It was part of a defense system on the Valencian coast.
The Castillo de la Granadella is a perfect place to soak up the relaxing seaside ambience and enjoy the beautiful scenery. In my opinion, the views towards the cove called Cala de la Granadella and the island called Isla del Descubridor are particularly beautiful.
Cala de la Granadella is one of the most beautiful and popular coves in the north of the Costa Blanca. It is located near Jávea (Xàbia) and is characterized by its crystal clear waters. During a hike along the cliffs, the views of the bay and the wide Mediterranean Sea are fantastic.
The combination of the coastal landscape, the wonderful colors of the sea water and the historic architecture inspired me to dedicate a photo series to Cala de la Granadella. The clear blue of the sky is reflected in the sea water. Mediterranean blue meets the fresh green of Mediterranean plants and herbs.
When I hike near the coast and look out over the wide sea, the clocks seem to tick a little more slowly. This photograph is destined to bring some of the charm of the Costa Blanca into your home. A sunny day on the Mediterranean.
