Description
The vertical rock face of the Castell de l'Ocaive in Spain. High on the top of this rock are the ruins of a fortress. It is a historic place that was once used as an observation post and to monitor regional trade routes. Today it is a beautiful destination for hikers and climbers. The particular textures and colors of the rock inspired me to take this shot. Red-brown rocks meet mediterranean plants. Grasses, pines and palm trees give the natural scene enchanting shades of green.
This photograph is dedicated to the peace and seclusion that makes hiking in the mountainous hinterland of the Alicante province a very special nature experience. Rock formations that bear the marks of time and at the same time stand for durability.
My work is inspired by long hikes in the southeast of Spain, where I am enchanted by Mediterranean mountain landscapes and imposing rock faces.
When I look at rock formations that Mother Nature has sculpted through millennia of weathering, the clocks seem to tick a little slower. In my opinion, they represent the beauty of nature, which existed long before man - and hopefully will exist for a very long time. This rock formation is destined to bring some of the magic of the Spanish mountains into your home.
